Tegernsee - Lake of Garda

You ride a bike regularly, enjoy letting the landscape pass you by on river bike paths, or have little experience touring in the mountains. Even though the sporting requirements for the individual daily stages are moderate, good preparation for this trip is highly recommended in order to spend five consecutive days in the saddle. The route runs mainly on paved and unpaved bike paths as well as secondary roads. Safety and confidence in handling the e-bike are required. With the exception of a few gravel roads in the ascent and descent, no technically challenging sections are to be expected. Stage lengths of up to 100 kilometers and the sum of the climbs up to 1,000 meters in altitude require a good basic condition despite the support of the e-drive. Your e-bike should be in perfect technical condition. A bike check in a workshop of your confidence before the tour is recommended. Due to the easy nature of the route, e-bikes with luggage racks are also suitable, but we advise you to use studded tires suitable for off-road use.

Our first highlight is Lake Achensee between the Rofan Mountains and the Karwendel. Culturally, the tour has a lot to offer with Hall, Sterzing, Brixen, Bozen, Kaltern and Tramin on the South Tyrolean Wine Road and Trento. Scenically, we are impressed by magnificent lakes, such as Achensee and Kalterer See, Alpine valleys, such as Inntal, Wipptal, Eisacktal and Etschtal, as well as impressive mountain massifs, such as the Karwendel, the Stubai Alps and the Dolomites. For gourmets: a culinary journey from bacon, cheese and Schlutzkrapfen to delicious antipasti, pasta, tiramisù and cappuccino.

From Lake Tegernsee, we reach Tyrol on bike paths over the Achen Pass. At the Achensee we enjoy the panorama of the Karwendel and the Rofan mountains before we roll down into the Inn valley to Schwaz. On the Roman road we reach the Wipptal valley via the Brenner pass and the Eisack river, which we follow on wonderfully laid out bike paths to Bolzano. Along the way, we'll touch on picturesque South Tyrolean towns, such as Sterzing and Brixen. Along the South Tyrolean Wine Road we discover Kaltern, Tramin and Lake Kaltern. Just a little to the south, we enter Trentino. Following the Adige Valley, we reach Trento and finally arrive at Lago di Cavedine via a remote mountain road at Monte Bondone. Through the Sarca Valley we roll on bike paths to the beautiful town of Arco and shortly after reach Lake Garda.

6 pm: Meeting for dinner at the Tegernsee. Getting to know each other, bike check, adjust rental bikes. Discussion of the overall tour based on maps.

After breakfast transfer back to the Tegernsee.
