Description
Tegernsee - Lake Garda
Facts
This tour is a more demanding beginner's tour, well suited for riders with good physical condition.
Requirements
This is our most difficult variant of a beginner transalp. A good condition for the sometimes longer climbs we assume. Nevertheless, the fun in the mountains and cycling should be in the foreground on this tour and neither performance pressure nor speed stress arise.
Highlights
The approach over Monte Bondone, the legendary time trial mountain in the annual Giro d'Italia, the famous council city of Trento, Lake Kaltern and the vineyards on the South Tyrolean Wine Road, the region of Oberbozen and the descent into the Sarntal valley.
Route
From Tegernsee over the Achen Pass into the Inn Valley and on over the Brenner Pass to Sterzing. Through the Eisack Valley with a steep detour towards Oberbozen to Bolzano in the Adige Valley and along the South Tyrolean Wine Road to Andrian. On the Etschtal cycle path to Trento and in a last effort over the Monte Bondone to Sopramonte. From here over the Lago di Toblino into the Sarche Valley and the last kilometers over Dro and Arco to Lake Garda.
