    Garmisch - Meran

    This tour leads us from Garmisch past the Zugspitze over the Fernpass and the Reschenpass into the Vinschgau Valley. A beautiful panorama tour for all who don’t want or cannot invest a whole holiday- week.
    This tour is ideal for beginners mainly on well established cycling routes. Basic fitness and having fun while cycling are recommended.
    For landscape lovers: Zugspitzmassif, Reschenpass, the Reschensee and the apple orchards in the Vinschgau. For culture lovers: The romantic castle Fernstein, the medieval town of Glurns, the Juva Castle in South Tyrol and the Mediterranean spa town of Merano. For culinary delights: Bacon, cheese, Schlutzkrapfen, antipasti, pizza, tiramisu and cappuccino...
    From Garmisch we start our tour to the Eibsee at the foot of the Zugspitze to Tyrol. A panoramic mountain highway leads from Ehrwald to the deep blue lakes at the Fernpass. Offside the Fernpass federal road we follow the footsteps of the Romans and enjoy the descent to the little village Nassereith and further along to Imst. Through the Inn Valley we follow the old Roman Road Via Claudia to Nauders. We cycle along the Reschenpass to Italy. Past the Grauner Tower which significantly rises up out of the Reschensee, we cycle further south and finally get to the apple orchards of the Vinschgau to Merano.

    6:00 pm: In the evening we meet up for dinner in Grainau. Get to know each other, bikecheck, tour preparation and trip briefing based on maps
    From Grainau we ride past the picturesque Eibsee located at the foot of the Zugspitze. We cycle further up towards the Hochthörlehütte to Tyrol. Here we can look forward to our first downhill to the small Austrian town Ehrwald. Up and down we cycle via the Panorama Trail above Biberwier to Weissensee and pedal further along the old Roman road Via Claudia Augusta over the Fernpass to Imst.
    Today we start the day pleasantly along the Inntal Cycle Path over Mils, Schönwies and Zams we have enough time to prepare for the coming day. Arriving in Landeck we cycle upwards to the Fließer Platte. From here we can enjoy stunning views into the Inn Valley. We follow the beautiful single-trail from Fließ down to the valley. Over Prutz, Ried and Tösens we get to Pfunds and cross the Kajetan Bridge. After a short excursion to Switzerland we have to conquer the Norbertshöhe. As a reward we get a dreamy view of Austria and Switzerland. Time for coffee and cake. At the end of this stage a beautiful downhill is waiting for us.
    Today we ride over the Reschenpass and immerse ourselves in the Mediterranean Adige Valley. We are in Italy! We take a break in Glurns in the sun with cappuccino and deliscious ice-cream - viva Italia! Further along the Etsch and across countless fruit plantations o fthe Vinschgau we are gently rolling downhill towards Merano. On the rooftop of our hotel, a whirlpool and picturesque alpine views await us.
    After breakfast we depart with the bus back to Grainau.
