Description

Dolomite Panorama

A round trip with start and finish in Mühlbach on four stages with a total of about 340 km and about 8500 hm: This tour through the Dolomites offers panoramas of the extra class. More scenery, passes and unique panoramas does not go on four days of driving in the medium level. Equipped with a book and GPS tracks, you will cycle across the Alps on your own. We take care of the travel organization. For your own safety, you can register for an individual Transalp with a minimum of two people.
A very good basic condition we presuppose. The climbs are also partly steeper!
Three Peaks, Cristallo Group, Tofanen, Heiligkreuzkofel, Sella Stock, Marmolada, Latemar, Rosengarten, Schlern and at the end Geisler, Sarntal Alps and the beautiful old town of Brixen.
From Mühlbach we cycle through Brixen and tackle the first climb to the Würzjoch. From here we head to today's stage destination St. Vigil. Over the Furkelpass we continue into the Pustertal and past the Three Peaks and the Christallo Group over the Falzarego Pass to Arabba. Here we stay two nights, because the next day follows here the round around the Sella massif, the famous Sellaronda. The last stage brings us over the Passo Pordoi and a rapid descent to Canazei. From there through the Fassa Valley to the Karer Pass. Over the Niger Pass we descend into the Eisack Valley and along the bike path through Bressanone with its beautiful cathedral square. From here we tackle the last kilometers to Mühlbach.
Details & stages
Self-arrival to Mühlbach, check-in, dinner.
On the first day of the stage we leave Mühlbach and drive down to Brixen. Here we have our first ascent of the pass: Over 30 km and 1750 hm it goes via St. Andrä and St. Georg up to the Würzjoch (1987 hm). We continue through the Untermoital down to Untermoi. Via Rina and Zwischenwasser we ride to our today's stage destination St. Vigil.
Already at the beginning of this day the partly very steep ascent to the Furkelpass (1789 hm) is waiting. Up to the top of the pass it is just under 8 km and 590 hm. The pass is located between the 2275 m high Kronplatz in the north and the 2507 m high Piz da Peres in the south. From the pass we continue via Olang to Toblach in the Pustertal valley. Here we turn south into the Höhlensteintal valley. We cycle down to Cortina. Here the next pass is already waiting for us: the Passo di Falzarego (2105 hm). The descent to Andraz follows. Now there are 300 hm and about 12 km to Arabba.
Today is the highlight of the tour: The classic Sellaronda Tour. Start and finish is in Arabba. We leave Arabba in northern direction and climb within only 55 km and about 1800 hm, four of the most beautiful Dolomite passes: Passo Campolongo (1850 hm), Passo Gardena (2119 hm), Passo Sella (2230 hm) and Passo Pordoi (2241 hm).
From the hotel we start the ascent to Passo Pordoi. Here we have a central view of the steep Sella cliffs. A very depressing monument to the fallen of the mountain war 100 years ago should also be seen. The descent with many serpentines leads us to Canazei. Through the Fassa Valley we mostly ride on the bike path along the river. Then we start the next climb over the Karer Pass. On the right we can already see the impressive Catinaccio and with every meter of altitude more of the Latemar. As an encore today we get the Niger Pass, which we roll over without many meters of altitude in a few kilometers. At the foot of the Catinaccio, the route then descends more steeply to Tiers and on into the Eisack Valley. On the bike path we go via Klausen to Brixen and from here the last kilometers to our destination Mühlbach.
